Teutonic knights exercicing Gods's Vengeance.

The Teutonis were a military order which main objective was to free Europe from the pagans. In the year 1409 the pope demanded that the Teutonic knights made an end to the heretic believers in Poland and Lithuania. In the beginning they were very succesfull against these people but in the end the Polish and Lithuanians had such a massive force that they beated the Teutonic knights. They never recovered from this los but they still had a lot of strongholds in the country like the castles at Marienburg and Thorn. In 1410 I believe the war came to an end in favour of the teutonic knights. It was a bit of a suprise because they lost the greatest battle between the forces but in the end they won the war. So far for the history part :) if anything is incorrect just tell me I make mistakes to :)

This is a drawing from a screenshot from the game Medieval total war II Kingdoms. Very good game btw.

the plural "s" is unnecessary because the umlaut above the u is used to show a plural. It changes the renunciation from "ritterbruder" to "ritterbreeder".

That's odd, I thought it said vengeance is Russia's... xD Cool drawing! The detail is great, as is the perspective. The grass helps to add depth. : D I had a lot of fun in this campaign. I played as everyone but mostly Novgorod lol. I've been a fan of Russia since Medieval Total War one. The Teutons had one heck of an army though. Dx I found the Burgher Pikemen to be quite useful, and naturally the knights were great. :D

The only thing I can see incorrect is in the description you said 1409. It was 1209 that the Teutonic Knights entered the Baltic, and they left in 1527 due to the Hochmeister (Grand Master) becoming a Lutheran and forcing the Grosskomtur, (second in command) to take control of the Order, and return to Rome, where they still exist today as clergy.

Very good picture though!
